CrossBall Privacy Policy

Overview

CrossBall (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is a football puzzle game. This policy explains what information the app collects, how we use it, and your choices. CrossBall is designed to work without a traditional account: you receive an anonymous identifier on your device.

Information we collect

• Anonymous user ID — a random UUID stored on your device and synced to our backend (Supabase) to save progress, stats, premium status, and settings.
• Gameplay data — puzzle scores, streaks, missions, leaderboard entries, and in-app preferences (language, theme, notification opt-in).
• Device push token — only if you enable notifications and remote push is configured; used to deliver optional reminders.
• Purchase information — if you buy CrossBall Premium, Apple processes payment. We receive product and verification data to activate premium features on your anonymous profile.
• Analytics events — if enabled, anonymized usage events (e.g. puzzle completed, hints used) may be sent to PostHog (EU hosting when configured).
• Advertising data — if ads are enabled, Google AdMob may collect device/ad identifiers. On iOS we request App Tracking Transparency permission before personalized ads.
• Local notifications — daily streak reminders are scheduled on your device; no server push is required for this feature.

How we use information

• Provide and sync game features (daily puzzle, practice, challenges, stats).
• Validate in-app purchases and restore premium access.
• Improve stability and product quality through optional analytics.
• Show optional ads and rewarded ads (e.g. hints, extra practice) when ads are enabled.
• Send optional local or remote notifications you opt into.

Third-party services

• Supabase — database and API hosting for game data.
• Apple App Store — in-app purchase processing.
• Google AdMob — optional advertising (when enabled in production).
• PostHog — optional product analytics (when configured).
• API-Football — server-side football data only; no personal data is sent from your device to this provider.

Each provider processes data under its own privacy policy.

Tracking & your choices

• You can disable push reminders in app Settings.
• On iOS, you can deny App Tracking Transparency; ads may be less personalized.
• Premium removes ads between practice sessions and unlocks ad-free hint options where applicable.
• Uninstalling the app removes local data; server-side anonymous progress may remain until deletion is requested.

Children

CrossBall is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Data retention & security

We retain anonymous gameplay data while you use the app. Data is transmitted over HTTPS. No system is 100% secure; we use reasonable measures to protect information.

Your rights

Depending on your region, you may request access, correction, or deletion of data linked to your anonymous ID. Contact us with your user UUID (shown in app debug/support if needed) or device details to help locate your record.

Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
